Fair warning(first): Manufacturing is bad and this guide is long. Even though I'm trying to show the best and easiest ways. Continue if you have a great mental.
First of all, let me answer your basic questions:
- "What's manufacturing?"
Its crafting, not sure why people call it manufacturing.
- "Should I do it?"
No, its bad. I'm still gonna help you though.
- "What's it doing?"
Nothing. Maybe a great house or a bad shop, or a garbage vehicle. That's all.
Let me start with an introduction:
I'm here to show you how to get the basic materials in the game to start manufacturing. Of course not only "getting" them. Scroll down for more info about it.
What does basic material mean? Well, I'm gonna talk about it here, detailed. A website can give you ideas, yes but I'm doing this for years. Be sure that I know what I'm doing.
It is bad, yes but I'm doing it. Do not ask why.
It is bad, yes but I'm doing it. Do not ask why.
That's all for the introduction and questions.
Before every every everything, you need a tent.
Head to this house in Kelan. Talk to the woman and say yes. She will gift you a tent when you're about to leave.
You can still change your mind about being a manufacturer. Even after taking the tent. A friendly warning.
Before everything(x1), you need materials, you also logically need skills to collect them.
I advice you to create some slave accounts to collect basic materials. They are easy to earn, even a level 10 can easily farm them. You have to be level 25 to be able to trade though.
It's not some quest guide but I'm still gonna explain how to make ready slaves. If you are ready to be a manufacturer(which is bad, you can still change your mind!), I advice you to create your 4 slaves at once and team them up.
Only get STR/CON and maybe a bit WIS for your slaves since they will be stuck at level 25~ for the rest of their lives. If they're gonna farm something by fighting, they shouldn't use mana. STR is always fine.
I'm warning: It's like the most efficient way to do this. It's still a bit long. Why? Because its bad. This is the last warning. Do not be a manufacturer.
Right after getting out of starters beach, head to Kelan. You will see a Shiba Inu wandering around, near a villager woman named Lila. PK it. Lower it's HP and catch it. You will need it later on to express. Get it for all of your team.
I advice you to get Roca, she can help you. Head to village leader, talk to him and get it. She is strong but she can easily bypass your speed and steal your EXP. Make sure she doesn't and you are fine.
You need x3 Iron Ores and x5 Barley for skills to collect faster and better. I'm gonna show you how to get it, simple way. You can either unlock trade for your slaves first and then deliver the items to them, or collect them with your slaves.
This part is for Iron Ore
Head up(Kelan Village).
Enter the cave, go there.
You will fight against stone monsters as long as you move and they drop iron ores a lot.
This part is for Barley
Easiest way to get barley is fighting chickens. Go down from Kelan and head to the portal in the photo.
As long as you move there, you will fight against chicken armies. They drop a lot of barley.
To get the skills:
For mining skill, which is mostly necessary for collecting, head to KaMa Cave.
Head to the miner, which is there(check photo). Talk to him. He will give you mining skill for the cost of 3 iron ores.
For collection skill, which is mostly necessary for the collecting, head to troll's cave.
Kill the troll and pass the subway(use the only exit). You will reach South Island.
Make sure you have your barley(x5) and head to the barn(in the photo). Get in and talk to farmer. Give his barley to get the skill.
So, we hopefully have our skills now. To make use of these skills, we need a vacuum cleaner.
Vacuum cleaner allows you to collect items from collection spots automatically. Mining and collection skills will help you to gather them faster.
Defeat the troll(not me) like I said for collection skill. After passing the subway, head to Holly Village(use the portal in photo).
Go down, pass the bridge.
Head right until you see the house in the photo. Talk to the mystical man(only human being there) in house.
Leave from Holly Village. Head to the waterfall.
Head to the part where I am, you will see a chest. Open it and get the quest item.
Lastly, go back to mystical man, talk to him and he will give you a vacuum. Equip it.
You can ask the wonderful question to me: Why the hell did we do all of these?
Answer is: You choosed to be a manufacturer. There is no turning back now. I warned you several times. That's how it works. Thanks
and now: Our slaves has to reach lv 25 to be able to trade. To do this, you can use the free exp potions and training vouchers. A slave is always a slave. Do not think twice before spending them.
Game gives a lot of potions and vouchers at first so you don't even have to check the game that much to reach lv 25. You can easily afk anywhere in training island. I still advice you to bring Roca with you.
I assume we are lv 25 or more now, so:
In this part, I'm gonna show you some collection spots with details.
You do not have to farm them forever, but a few of them are worth farming forever.
This is the first spot. It gives you clays(Grey Clay, Yellow Clay, Clay, Red Clay, White Clay).
It basically gives all clay except black and dry. You definitely need them but not that much. I advice you to collect clays here for at least a few hours.
You don't need to have accounts staying here forever. It's an easy spot to reach, also you don't need that much clay.
It is in North Island. You can go there right after leaving Kelan.
This spot gets affected/gives exp by/for collection skill. Not mining.
Second spot. The spot I showed with red arrow on last photo is a vacuum collection spot. But do not use it. This area is for fighting, I'm still gonna call it a "spot" though.
If you wander around there, you will fight lv 5 and lv 6 trees. They are easy to fight and easy to sustain, they drop +30 HP and +20 HP apples time to time. It is always an okay spot, even if you do not have any potions.
Fight drops does not get affected from vacuum's skills so in this spot you do not need any skills.
Trees drop all kinds of wood(Wood, Lauan, Oak, Cypress) and more importantly, Original Rubber. They also drop pineapple and apple seeds if you are interested.
You will ALWAYS need wood and rubbers for manufacturing. My advice to you is: Use this spot. Do not buy any wood since being a manufacturer = being poor.
If you get a lot of unnecessary type of wood, you can cut them in half with stone knife(in tent) and then recycle them. I will get back to this topic later on.
You can access this place by going to Kelan Cave by heading right instead of entering the cave. You can see the continuation step by step from photos.
I'm exactly using the same photo here. It is Kelan Cave. I said this spot was for collecting Iron Ores. It still is.
Shopkeeper NPC in Cornwall sells Iron Ores but as I said do not buy it. Collecting in Kelan Cave is a great way.
For manufacturing you ALWAYS need iron. A lot of it. When I say a lot, I mean A LOT.
You will also get Black Clay(only a few, rare drop), Aluminum Ore(extremely rare), Copper Ore, Tin Ore, Obsidian and so on. All of them are important for us.
Again, you do not need vacuum or vacuum skills for this.
Fourth spot. This is a vacuum spot that gives you Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Aluminum Ore, Quartz and Pure Iron Ore(Aluminum Ore and Iron Ore looks the exact same).
Collecting in a collection spot is slower compared to fighting so do not use this spot for only iron ores. It is still the best and easiest spot to get aluminum and quartz.
To come here, use your teleport thingies(you get x5 at start) and teleport to Oslya and follow the photos.
If you encounter any strong creature, you can log out to prevent dying. If they hit you for good, there's a great chance that you will teleport back to your recorded spot.
This spot gets affected/gives exp by/for mining skill. Not collection.
Fifth spot. This is a vacuum spot that gives you Black Clay, Crude Oil and Bluestone.
Collecting black clay and crude oil in this spot can help a lot for the starters.
To come here, use your teleport thingies like in fourth spot and walk to other cave enterance. Check photos for more detailed path.
Both black clay and crude oil necessary to be a manufacturer, at least for the beginning.
This spot gets affected/gives exp by/for mining skill. Not collection.
Sixth spot. This is a vacuum spot that gives you Common Stone, Mica Rock, Granite, Coal Ore and most importantly: Sulfur.
This spot is not necessary unless you want to make something like a space craft. You will be rarely in need of sulfur, but I still wanted to mention this spot since its like the only place to get sulfur.
To reach this place, enter Kelan Cave and go upstairs. Continuation is shown in photos.
This spot gets affected/gives exp by/for collection skill. Not mining.
Seventh spot. This is a vacuum spot that gives you Harl Grass, Vine Grass, Vine, Cotton and Common Grass.
Normally, fighting Dragonflies in South Island is a lot faster for collecting grass(they also give paper grass). Actually, it still is but what I experienced is reborned(white) dragonflies do not drop any Cotton in this server.
This spot is the best way to get cotton for the earlies(and you will mostly need it), Mayan Forest's collection spot is also not bad.
To reach this place, leave Starter's Beach and head up. Continuation is shown in photos.
This spot gets affected/gives exp by/for collection skill. Not mining.
That's all for the spots. Now I'm gonna help you for something else. Compounding for materials.
I advice you to have primary alchemy for better results. It's quest is not complicated or anything, just delivering some stuff.
That's still just an advice though.
(Hardened) Aluminum Plate
Normally, making an aluminum plate costs x6 aluminum ore as total. Or x12 aluminum ores for hardened plates.
Compounding aluminum ore with obsidian or something similar(like tin ore) will mostly turn aluminum ore into aluminum sand, aluminum plate or hardened aluminum plate.
Aluminum Sand can be considered useless so keep compounding it with obsidian/tin ore until you get any plate.
It can help you to turn a plate into hardened one or a hardened one into normal plate but for all compounds there is a chance that you will lose the aluminum and get a common stone. I advice you to stop after getting any plate.
To not risk too much aluminum ores, compound one by one(or x5, x10 etc. each time).
Copper Sand
Turning copper ore into copper sand takes a lot of time normally(2 copper ore => 2 copper sand => 1 copper).
Compounding copper ore with another copper ore, organic muck etc. can result in getting copper sand instantly.
If you get copper material, you can recycle it. It has a chance to give copper sand.
If you get copper block, compound it again like it's still copper ore.
It has a decent fail rate so I do not advice this unless you have too many stacked copper ores.
Tin Material
Getting tin material is a pain, just like copper sand.
Compounding tin ore with another tin ore or something like obsidian will mostly give you a tin material or a tin sand.
If you get tin sand, compound it again just like it's a tin ore.
If you get tin block, I advice you to craft tin material from it. It will have a 2 to 1 ratio which is not bad. Compounding again can result in getting the tin material instantly. I'm not sure if it's worth it.
Naphtha (and Tar, Heavy Oil)
Getting these three is a pain. Especially for the early game. It takes 20 minutes to make it for each.
Find coconuts, I'm sorry to say it but the best way to get it is probably collecting from trees. If you are lucky with recycles, then you are welcome to use your own way.
Use a centrifuge to make them coconut oils in no time. Game gives you 2 to 1 rate.
Compound them with obsidian(or something similar like tin ore but I like obsidian more). You will either directly get Naphtha, Tar or Heavy Oil OR another weird oil.
If you get another weird oil, compound it with organic muck. Like the previous time, you will either get one of these three or a weird oil.
It almost has no fail chance, especially if your compound skill is not that low.
If you want to change their type(like tar to any other), compound them with organic muck. You will either get coconut oil, weird oil or one of these three(Naphtha, Tar or Heavy Oil). You can repeat it until you get what you need.
and no, Plastic is not possible to get with compounds. At least I don't know even if there's a way. You really have to wait 20 mins for it.
Wood
as I mentioned before, if you farm trees(in Kelan Woods) you will gain every wood type and you will need tons of regular wood.
To turn other wood(Oak, Lauan, Cypress) into regular one, cut them in half from stone knife first. Then recycle them.
You will mostly get: A full or chopped wood(regular, oak or lauan(no cypress)), mask model, straw mushroom or bamboo.
Compounding bamboo or mask model with a trash(straw mushroom, organic muck etc.) will mostly give you wood. Mostly regular one.
Chopped cypress' rank is 5 though. In a lot compounds you can replace obsidian/tin ore with it if you want. Even though as I experienced: It lowers the success chance a bit. A bit, yes.
If you came this far, thank you. You really do not have a life.
Its not a warning, this time I'm just letting you know: Manufacturing is BAD!
For references, I only used my experience and my accounts. Oh, and the game of course.
I did use wlodb.com a lot in the past though. If you really want to join this hell of being a manufacturer, I advice you to use it.

Thank you again for coming this far!
if you skipped all the way here, it's still okay :c
